Brow Boutique South Africa was started by Jess Hollingdrake in the beginning of 2016 and has since grown into South Africa's leading cosmetic tattoo studio with a reputation of exceptional artistry and the highest level of professionalism our industry has to offer. We offer specialist advice and services stemming from our
absolute passion for enhancing your own natural beauty and to date, Brow Boutique is proud to have a customer base of over 11 000 happy clients.
We have created a unique, tranquil enviroment for our clients and team alike. Our studios are completely different from what people are generally accustomed to in corporate retail salons.

This small boutique studio is situated in the vibey Little Falls suburb of Johannesburg. Our studio space comprises of a comfy waiting room, 4 fully equipped treatment rooms as well as a dedicated training facility and additional studio space.

Meet The Team
Jess Hollingdrake established herself as one of the first Microblading artists in South Africa after qualifying with International Masters Training in Microblading, Permanent Makeup, Colour Knowledge and Tattoo Removal.
Jess is internationally qualified in Advanced Permanent Makeup techniques through International brand Swiss Colour as well as Dermapigmentation, Advanced Micropigmentation and Scalp Micropigmentation. Over her nearly 10 years in the industry - Jess has become a recognised Master Trainer in her field with years of practical experience. Jess is also part of the international LI Pigments Pro Artist Team.
She also holds an international OSHA certification in safe practices for tattoo artists and Blood-borne Pathogens training as well as an array of advanced certifications and various makeup qualifications. Jess is also a full member of PCASA - Permanent Cosmetic Association of South Africa and an Affiliate and Corporate Member of the SAAHSP (South African Association of Health and Skincare Professionals)
After studying Interior Design through a college in London, Jess decided to turn her passion for aesthetics and love of tattooing into the niche beauty industry. She is an avid collector of tattoos, lover of all things art, a complete foodie and is obsessed with animals.
If she isn't with clients or training students - she's usually baking treats, drawing or spending time with her partner, family and friends.
Dr Thalia Brizido is our resident Medical Aesthetics Doctor under our new " Medi & Muse" collection at Brow Boutique.
Dr Thalia is a qualified medical doctor with a special interest in Aesthetic Medicine.

From a young girl she battled with her self-image and self-confidence, but as she matured she discovered that although you’re your biggest critic, you’re also your greatest ally. Confidence is everything!

Prior to pursuing a career in medicine she completed her Honours degree in Psychology at UCT. She obtained her Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of surgery (MBBCh) from Wits University and qualified as a medical doctor in 2017.
​
Following her community service she continued to focus on the Art of medicine and obtained certificates in Botox and Filler training as well as Lip beautification from Medskills Training Academy and is continuously growing her Aesthetic medicine skills and portfolio.

She is an advocate for enhancing, maintaining and revitalising one’s natural beauty or masculinity! She firmly believes in both preventative anti-aging medicine or “prejuvenation” and corrective “rejuvenation and revitalisation”.

When Dr. Thalia isn’t beautifying clients, she works in a state clinic and in her free time she enjoys spending time with family and friends and finding any excuse to get away from the rat race of joburg and into the bush! Sheldon Smith is a talented tattoo artist and Scalp Micropigmentation specialist.

With a natural love for art, Sheldon was drawn to tattooing as it pushed society's boundaries for artistic expression. Immediately after completing his Matric, Sheldon took up his love for art in the form of tattooing, getting his first apprenticeship at Winston Ink, where he completed his 2 year apprenticeship.
Sheldon then moved to Johannesburg to pursue a more diverse tattoo community and client base, and has since worked for studio’s across Johannesburg such as Dakota Lee, SA Hardcore and Tattoo World before opening a private studio close to the beautiful Walter Sisulu Botanical Gardens in Ruimsig, Johannesburg. ​​

Sheldon uses his love for animals to focus his style in Neotraditional animals and floral tattooing but doesn’t limit himself to that, he also pursued a career in paramedical tattooing in the form of the revolutionary Scalp Micropigmentation treatment - having trained under one of the UK's most prestigious SMP specialists back in 2020.
Takara Pavão is a qualified lash extension and brow artist with four years of experience in the beauty industry.
At just 23 years old, she has been dedicated to her craft since finishing matric.
Her passion for the industry goes beyond making clients feel confident and beautiful—she is always seeking new and exciting challenges. She thrives on learning, pushing boundaries, and expanding her knowledge not only for herself but for the benefit of her clients.
What sets her apart is her commitment to continuous growth, ensuring she meets the unique needs of every individual who walks through her door. She believes that everyone deserves the same level of care and respect, tailoring her services to suit each client’s specific requirements.
Outside the studio, Takara enjoys spending time with her dogs and loved ones. She is also deeply involved in animal welfare, a cause that she holds close to her heart. And, of course, she has a love for shopping.
Mackenna is our resident admin wizz, client liaison and friendly smile you see when you walk into Brow Boutique. She is in charge of bookings - ensuring that all of our clients' needs are attended to.
When Mackenna is not in the studio - she can be found spending time with her beautiful daughter.
