The Full Fundamental PMU Course is designed for beginners who want to enter the permanent makeup industry with a structured and comprehensive machine-based education. Covering Powder Brows, Lip Blush and Eyeliner, this course provides the technical foundation required to safely and confidently perform three of the most in-demand PMU treatments.

Students are guided through essential theory including skin anatomy, pigment science, contraindications, documentation and health protocols, alongside detailed training in rotary machine mechanics, needle configurations, depth control and pigment implantation techniques.

Practical training progresses from structured artificial skin exercises to guided live model work, allowing students to develop hand stability, precision and consistency under supervision.
Particular focus is placed on healed results, colour retention and professional standards, ensuring that students understand not just how to perform the treatment, but how to achieve predictable long-term outcomes.

Training Breakdown
PRE-STUDY
Home Study
Students receive an 80+ page full colour training manual via courier two weeks prior to the course start date. Completion of the theory component is required before attending in-house training to ensure classroom time is focused on technical refinement and machine control.

DAY 1
Fundamental Theory Day
• Skin anatomy and physiology
• Health, safety and contraindications
• Pigment science and colour theory
• Fitzpatrick scale and skin assessment
• Rotary machine fundamentals
• Needle configurations and depth control
Day one establishes the clinical and technical foundation required for safe, professional cosmetic tattooing.

DAY 2
Machine Mechanics & Drawing Skills
• Machine setup and breakdown
• Hand speed and voltage control
• Pre-drawing and symmetry exercises
• Structured brow mapping
• Lip and eyeliner design fundamentals
• Artificial skin introduction
Students begin building confidence in machine handling and structured drawing techniques.

DAY 3
Artificial Skin Intensive
• Powder brow shading techniques
• Lip blush layering and borderless saturation
• Lash enhancement and classic liner precision
• Stretch technique and implantation control
• Repetition for consistency and depth accuracy
This day focuses on repetition, correction and controlled pigment implantation.

DAY 4
Skills Building & Live Demonstrations
• Live instructor demonstrations
• Procedure workflow and client positioning
• Professional station setup
• Consent forms and documentation
• Troubleshooting and common mistakes
Students refine technique while observing real-time procedure structure and decision-making.

2 to 6 Weeks
Home Practice Period
Students are required to practise on artificial skins before returning for live models. This period allows muscle memory to develop and ensures students do not rush into live procedures prematurely.

DAY 5 & 6
Live Practicals
Students return to the academy with models to perform live Powder Brow, Lip Blush and Eyeliner procedures under close supervision. Emphasis is placed on safety, symmetry, machine control and professional workflow.
Constructive feedback is provided throughout to ensure predictable, high-quality results.

Certification is issued upon successful completion of required case studies.

Training Fee: R24 500

Students are required to select one of our PMU kit options. The selected kit fee is added to the training fee.
​
A rotary machine is mandatory for this course and must be purchased separately unless you already own a compatible professional machine.
